Tax Help

This service is available from July to October.

Tax Help is a free service, sponsored by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Tax Help is only for low income earners, that is:

• on an annual income less than $35 000
• on an annual income of $30 000 plus $2500 for each dependant child under 16 years of age or student under 25 years.

Community volunteers are trained by the ATO to help people understand their taxation responsibilities, including preparing their tax returns at tax time. Tax returns need to be lodged between 1 July and 31 October each year.

Rental Bond Assistance

Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre can assist low income earners to apply for Rentstart, a program of the Department of Housing which helps people with up to 3 weeks bond. There is no longer a need for you to travel to Coffs Harbour to lodge your application. Just come into the Neighbourhood Centre for the forms, fill them out and we will fax it off to the department, free of charge. They will then contact you by phone for further information or to tell you if you were successful or not.

Low cost computer access

This service is available by appointment. Each printout costs 20 cents per page.

Laminating

We can laminate documents from credit card size up to A3. Laminating rates

Photocopying

We have a new Toshiba machine capable of copying A3 & A4 pages, automatic double siding and collates. Photocopying rates

Price includes front and back covers, comb and the binding (not the photocopying). Binding prices
